The spanish rider Jose Angel Gomez Marchanten has won the Subida a Urkiola in his own country. With this victory Saunier Duval has a lot to party for because David Millar has won the British national championships on the same day. For Euskaltel Amets Txurruka was in the early break but couldn't get in the top 10, he became 11th.Early in the race there was a break of 26 riders, among them Amets and three from Saunier Duval, Cañada, Mori and Camaño. On the first climb to Urkiola Gomez Marchante, David Lopez and Juan Josa Cobo came from behind and reduced the big group to 12. Then Gomez' teammates gave everything untill the final ascent. Also Cobo wanted the victory and he started to make pace, but he made everything ready for Marchantes final attack. The Spaniard pushed hard over the last kilometres and got an advantage of 40 seconds.
