Amstel Gold Race : Galdos 31th

It was quite a colourless day for the Euskaltel riders in the Amstel Gold Race today. With 50 kilometres to go Egoi Martinez attacked twice but he never really got away. There were constantly one or two riders from Euskaltel in front of the peloton but when the race really started no Euskaltel was to be seen. Nine riders battled it out for the victory and it was Damiano Cunego who beat Frank Schleck in the sprint. Sprinter Aitor Galdos came in on a 31th spot, 1:55 down. Mikel disappointed with a 41th place. All the others finished the race, except for Javier Aramendia.

Well, without Sanchez in this kind of races it is a difficult story of course, Mikel is not shaped for this little Dutch hills. Ain't surprised actually by this performance.

But Sanchez can't ride everything :p I wish Euskaltel had some more good one-day racers for in our countries :x

Yeah, indeed. But the nice thing about Euskaltel is that they do it with what they have, and not buy and sell riders all over the world.

Consequence is that the team is not the strongest team of the ProTour, but I do not care.

(Though some more victories would be good of course!)
