Iñigo Landaluze caught for using CERA

Before the official message of the UCI, Euskaltel released a mail stating their opinion about Iñigo Landaluze. The 32-year old rider from Algorta was caught for using CERA during this year's Dauphiné Libéré. He was already held out of the Spanish Championships and won't ride for Euskaltel anymore untill more details are revealed. It's not the first time that Landaluze got caught. In 2005, after his win in the Dauphiné Libéré, he was also suspended but after some lawyer work, he could stay in the team. Of course this news will hurt all Euskaltel fans, but in these hard times for cycling, the 'bad' guys have to leave.

Devestating news for a passionate Euskaltel-fan from Norway. Feel betrayed now, this sure does hurt!

Yeah I know, Iñigo was always the one to attack, the one leading the squad who made the races attractive. Of course you can't say it's all fake, he's a very talented man, but still it's such a scam! And I hope it wont hurt the credibility of the team!

That is something I fear too, that the credibility will decrease. We have had the Aketza Peña-case also.

Another thing I was thinking about was how stupid are you when you use CERA when you know that it can be tracked? It's over a year ago that CERA for the first time could be tracked. Anyway, I just hope that Iñigo won't ride in the orange jersey anymore, even after the ban is over.

By the way, nice blog you have here! I'm reading quite a lot in here now.

Yeah I know, but Kohl took CERA too and he said that he escaped 99 out of 100 tests, so why not :x

Thanx!

Hello,
Could you please clarify the situation of Inigo Landaluze after his positive drug test. Has he been dismissed/suspended from the team?

Would you consider adding your squad to bikepure; in the light of Landaluzes result to reassure the world that the rest of your riders are committed to a clean, drug free sport?

He's suspended from the team. He has clarified that the team isn't responsable for anything. Now I think he's waiting for a b-sample although nothing is said about that yet.
