Haimar Zubeldia fell in the beginning of the Vuelta and today we finally got to see that he's healing good. He was in the three escapes and one of them went to the finish. You could see he wasn't really in a good shape anymore like in the tour because he had a hard time following on the climbs but it was good to see him in front once again. He became ninth because he didn't compete in the sprint for the third place.
In the same group as Haimar there were also strong others like Garate and Schumacher but it was Jason McCartney from Discovery Channel who made the final attack and no one could get him back. Thomas Lövkvist tried but he came in 28 seconds behind. The peloton came in 10 minutes behind the break but the general rank didn't change. All the other riders from Euskaltel came in with the peloton except for Koldo Fernandez, but he will probably be a bit tired from all the sprints.
Tomorrow we get a tough stage with the Alto de Monachill as main obstacle, the climb were Vinokourov won the Vuelta last year from Valverde. I think this will be something for Iñigo since we haven't seen him yet.
