Today we got the first big mountain on the path to Madrid, the Lagos de Covadonga. Early in the race there was a big escape with 30 people, among them Aitor Hernandez. In the peloton everything stayed together untill the last climb but then it exploded. In the first group Vladimir Efimkin escaped and he managed to stay away and win the stage. In the peloton Sastre made the first big jump and only Menchov and Piepoli were able to followand together with two belgians from the first group, Devolder and Monfort, they rode to the finish.
For Euskaltel Samuel Sanchez cracked, he couldn't keep up the pace from Sastre and he finished 17th together with Anton, more than 2 minutes behind. Haimar managed to finish the stage on a 130th spot together with the sprinters. He hurt the bone of his left shoulder (don't know the english name, in spanish it's Clavicula and in dutch Sleutelbeen) but he hasn't broken anything.

Igor looked really good, eh?
Yeah he was strong, but normally he should be in the group with Pereiro, but probably he got team orders to ride with Samu
