Asturias 1 : Bad performance

The first stage of th Vuelta Asturias was really bad for Euskaltel. Only Gorka showed himself in the beginning. He took some points for the mountains classification on the first twon mountains, but then Euskaltel was nowhere to be seen. Gorka was the first to finish on the 73th place on more than 7 minutes. Samuel finished 92th. This means that all Euskaltels are eliminated for the general rank.

This is what Samuel had to say about it : "It was a very fast and tiring stage, a really crazy day," "We did not pause at all, not even in the feed zone. We did not even stop to urinate: I toyed with the idea of voluntarily crashing to have a little break…" (winking. )"LA Aluminios MSS is a very strong team. For tomorrow, I don't know if I will be in a great form for the time trial. We have to see how we can recuperate from today, and be confident."
